Buying a new mini
Buying a new mini
I'm not sure where to post this, but I had some questions.. I'd appreciate any insight.
I was thinking about the Cash for Clunkers program to get a 09 MCa. However, I was told the 10's are coming in November. Has MINI sold later years (which would be 09s) for less than MSRP once the new ones (10s) are in?
If it's not ~$3k cheaper, then I'll probably jump on the CARS deal.
Also.. has anyone been able to get their MINI without the front license plate holes drilled into the bumper?

Hello- Chiming in from Southern California here- It's only in the last 6-9 months that dealers are actually having MINIs sitting on lots long enough for them to start sweating. From my observations, even then the prices don't dip very much under MSRP. (You *might* be able to score some floor mats. Yeah, I know.) Considering the state of the C4C program, I would suggest that if you're interested in a MINI and have found one that suits your liking, you should grab it up ASAP. C4C might not be around in two months for the '10 refresh!
As for the front plate, my dealer made me sign a form saying that I know that a front plate is required and I would not hold them liable. Then they drilled holes in my front bumper and refused to replace it. (I didn't care enough to persue it). Yet I know many many (many) people who signed the form and did not get the free holes in the bumper. So, I think that's a "yes", in most states.
Hope that helps!

yeah I was looking at MINIs a couple years ago and saw the mark-ups.. happy they're at msrp at least now..
Thanks for all your help~!
But my clunker isn't really a clunker.. still got some life left.
So I'm wondering if waiting for the 2010s to arrive will bring the 09s down under MSRP. Is this likely?
