Well, to be honest my "rice" wasnt your average rice. I had a 91 Eagle Talon TSi with some goodies on it. I was making 260+hp and I ate ricers for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I fell in love with the Cooper when I saw it in Austin Powers. The Talon got to the "I need a new tranny and a new clutch and a new x-fer case or Im gonna cry" stage and I decided I wanted my first new car. On April 25th of this year I took a Greyhound bus to Jacksonville FL to pick up my new baby. 03 CR/B MCS! I love this car, and I love the community that shares my passion. Pop into a rice forum if you want a laugh somtime

I have been quietly lurking in the background here since May. I must say that this is a great group of people. I also think that we should all go home today and sacrifice 3 of our best goats to the gods for blessing us with Randy!!!
I think that he must be an alien from planet MINIPIMP

Right now my MCS is bone stock but I have a Pilo Intake on the way thanks to the great sale that Outmotoring.com had! Im also planning on a Magnaflow exhaust and as soon as Randy (aka MINIPimp) has a pulley party anywhere near NW Florida Im certainly going to taint my MINI with the pulley

The talon was "Wild Rice". See when I think ricer I see a kid that owns 2 copies of Fast and Furious (incase the VCR eats one) and has a 4' wing on the back of his civic with an 12.5" exhaust tip and tint that matches the color of his car. Add to this about 20 performance part stickers on the car (but not the parts) and LED's on everything from the door locks to the valve stem caps... The talon had a crap paint job, oil stains on the carpet from laying parts in the floor board, and torn up interior. The beauty of the car was under the hood! 260hp and AWD is nothing to fool with. PLUS I had lots of performance parts (and no stickers) and ZERO LED's! It was alot of fun, but the MINI stole my heart (and wallet). So one could say the Talon was Anti-Rice. Thanks for the welcome CC!

Well welcome aboard MrWhoa from a fellow NW Florida person. If we can get enough people together to make it worth his time, I’m sure Randy would head over our way.

Welcome MrWhoa! Glad to see you came out of the shadows to join in on the fun and festivities. Since you've been lurking for a while you already know this forum is filled with people who love the car as much as those on M2.

I was in Panama City Beach, but moved closer to work. I'm in Ft Walton Beach. Just a hop, skip and and MINI wheel skid away now.

Thanks for all the LUFF!

Yeah I was very active on M2 for awhile but I just got to the point where all the lucky Euro's and their fancy Full conversions (BBR, Digi, blah blah blah) made me want to get into the bathtub with a plugged in toaster instead of my rubber ducky... Much like my addiction to Spam and Malt Liquor I had to walk away...

Even though I started the Mother of all Minibabes threads over there

Mr. Whoa, you are going to love your Pilo intake. I too ordered mine during the sale, and just installed it last night. Really easy install and the feel of the car is completely different . Can't go wrong for only $125.

MrWhoa, you don't sound like a true ricer, but it sounds like you hung around with some so maybe you can shed some light on something I've been wondering for a while.

What is it exactly that makes a ricer think that a huge steel spoiler mounted 3 feet above the rear trunk is anything but completely ridiculous looking? And do they know that all the other drivers on the road are laughing at them?

I'm genuinely curious.

I'm glad we reformed a ricer, at least you didnt come on here like MiniCivic did.

Did you order or buy off the lot at Tom Bush? I just picked mine up october 11, ordered it august 8. Have fun with your MCS, I am, and Im hoping to start the mods soon.

Bk_MCS, yes I got it from Tom Bush. They were SO damn nice to me, but they dont know **** about the product. I got a good deal on my car and it was an overall great experience. Matter of fact, if it wasnt for the MINI sales manager, his name slips me, I would not even have my MINI! He got me GREAT financing when I was turned down by my own credit union! Great guy. Knows **** about MINI's but nice.

Scooterboy, no.. I was never a "Ricer". Being a Ricer is a state of mind. It is all about appearance. These people dress to match their car when they go out cruising. Now, honestly... If you throw enough money at a pastel metallic Civic with a 4' spoiler... It will haul SERIOUS ***. I know a Kid with a prelude that has 10k wrapped up in the motor and NOS, and the thing is very fast. My talon ate his lunch before he hit the NOS though  Oh yeah, what's up with the wing. Sorry Im on meds from a car wreck this afternoon and Im chatty. The wing is just to make it look like some gay colored race car. Look liky racy car be racy car. In that world anyway. Japanese sports cars can be MONDO bad real cheap. If your ever looking for a fun cheap *** car to AUTOX with I would Highly recomend an Eclipse or Talon. You can get those cars to 400hp and only have about 7K wrapped up in the mods AND car. Now I know thats a chunck but look at the bottom lines. I have lots of respect for that. Honda with an exhaust tip and "Tireflys".... NO.

I love the HELL out of my MCS. I havent felt this way about a car since I first got my license and my first auto for my 16th bday (1978 Datsun 280Z). Im sad to report she was attacked by Dodge Caravan this afternoon and will be out of commission for?.......

Sorry to hear about that.
It's great you have an MCS now. What great plans do you have? There is so much to do.
