I just talked with the Dealer and they are offering to do the work for $45.00 they also do the diode jumper.. FYI

 

wow they're charging $2/minute... that's pretty expensive service if you ask me (and even if you don't ask, it's still a lot)

but, after having done the switch myself, I would recommend NO ONE getting the dealer to change it, unless you have money trees at your house.. it's not hard at all (except the how-to sites don't stress you gotta pull hard on the dash for it to budge)

Are we talking about the clear rear lens in the rear bumper? Does the kit change this into a 4th brake light? I assume a red bulb must be installed also. Thanks.

 

No. This mod or kit turns the 'rear fog lights' (the upper portion of the taillights which in US-market cars that is not used from the factory) into additional brake lights. Right now when you step on the brake, only the lower part of the light (below the amber turn signal) comes on. It's also the tail light. The mod allows the upper section to be used (there is an unused bulb in there already) as a brake light, increasing the visibility of the car and also using the entire taillight assembly. Mods with the diode allow the recently released rear fog light kit to coexist with the brake light modification.
