So the clutch in my 2006 Mini convertible is starting to go (engagement point has become very high) and the dealer said it was wearing out but not unuseable yet.

The car has 43K miles and the dealer didnt want to hear about it being defective, but in my book any clutch at 43K miles is defective. Anyway to convince them it should be warranty work?

They then quoted me $2600+ for the replacement. Ouch.

Does anyone know any good shops near Pittsburgh, PA that have reasonable rates for a clutch replacement (and knows Minis preferably)

Also where is a good place to get a heavy duty aftermarket clutch and flywheel that will last longer than 40K miles?
I assume I can ditch the dual mass flywheel?

Im not looking for an aggressive clutch and lightweight flywheel as this is my wife's everyday car. OEM feel would be best.

Don't know about clutches , however, they are
very familiar with MINI's

I know, they kept mine in action after the warranty.
