Yeah, tell me about it. The other colors were cheaper, but Interchange Yellow was damn expensive. I did pick it up, and they gave it to me at $40, but even that was damn expensive. It does come with two tubes, one is the actual Basecoat, and the other is the Clear Lacquer. Each is 12ml

Also, incase you were wondering why I have the part number for the bolts for the R111 rims, it's becuase I plan to get them powder coated in Yellow (as close to Interchange Yellow as I can get it), and install it. I thought some body color in the Rims would look pretty nice. Since my Mini is a daily driver, I can't just drop off my existing bolts

Once it's done, I'll be updating my pictures with it.

I was thinking about powder coating my bolts yellow, to match as IY as close as possible!! You really have to stop stealing all of my ideas, or we will have twin MINIs.

Great minds think alike they say... I just like to tinker witih my Mini, and the Interchange Yellow is such a unique color, I thought of adding some unique accents.

I installed the JCW Carbon Fiber Boot Handle last night. I have the JCW Carbon Fiber Mirror Caps arriving tomorrow along with the new bolts. Now I have to find a local place to powder coat the bolts.

I've put the JCW Break Kit on hold for a month. Hopefully my dealer will still honor their quoted price for that long.

Hey Jeremy,

So I'm heading tomorrow to my local powder coating specialist to get my 16 new bolts all done up in IY. Once he's done, I plan to swap them out for my current black ones.

If you want I can get those same black ones powder coated as well, and you can have them for whatever it cost me for the parts + powder coating.

So far I paid $5 for each + Tax, so that was $80 + 9.75% sales tax. I think powder coating them may cost me around $8 for each, so that's another $128 + Tax, but I'll find out for sure tomorrow. I'll be visiting them after the JCW Brake Kit gets installed.

If you're interested in them, let me know.

You're missing the wind deflector, which for a convertible is probably more important than any of the other items.

Your correct. That's one part I wont be purchasing for a long time since I have kids in my back seats.

I just added that part along with the JCW Sport Brake Kit for our R57s..

So the bolts are in for powder coating now. All 16 were done for $50, so that's a really good dea. I'll let you know how they turn out. I'll post pictures online as soon as I pick them up.

I have a few suggestions if you want to hear them

(1) Challenge Side Strip (Black and Clear) on each side

(2) The words "John Cooper Works" above the challenge strip in Black. I haven't yet decided on which font looks best, but I have a narrowed it down to a few

(3) Blackout on the Headlight chrome triim.

(4) Blackout on the Taillight chrome trim.

(5) Illumuniated JCW Door Sills (not something high on my list, but it may look pretty slick).

I'm pretty much tapped out for now, so all these may have to wait until next year. The JCW Carbon Fiber, Engine and Brake kits pretty much maxed me out right now... all well worth it

I'm thinking about adding the JCW strut brace. I also want to add boot stripes, but the cost of replacement emblems is holding me back. (It'll cost almost $110 for emblems, compared to the $30 for stripes!) I also want to do something to bring my '1026' back to the car. I also want to get my mirror caps either painted black, or replaced with black.

For #1 and #2, here is what I was thinking. This is a Photoshop'ed picture of course, but I think it looks awesome against IY. I did a mirrow image of the car to show how the JCW wording lookings on both sides. The original image was of the passenger side only. I think it looks pretty nice.

Thoughts?

The perfect answer... "I didn't, I actualy own two IY Yellow JCW Cabrios"

The real answer... "I wanted to see what the text would look like on both sides, since the words always read from left to right.

I like it, I think it's going to be my next mod in the coming months. Can you say http://aestheticreations.net/

Powder coating has been completed. I posted pictures here: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...367-post4.html.

Installation will occur on Saturday if not Sunday.

Pictues are here. Couple of things

(1) Powder coating isn't that strong when you start to apply the pressure to your torque wrench. The manual stated that you need 103.3 lbs-ft of pressure which I did, and I it did rub off some of the powder coating, but only on the sides, not that notable.

(2) I had to use three different sockets depending on the actua lug nut. 17mm (which is the size for a regular lug nut for our R111 rims), 11/16 if the 117mm didn't fit, and finally a 18mm when the 11.16 didn't fit. The reason for the three sizes was that the powder coating did increase the thickness of the lug.

Also, I did use the expensive touchup paint to paint the top of the caps.

Very nice work! Looks great! I imagined as much that the paint would force you to use a different wrench. Nice pictures.

So 2010 is here, and it's time for some mods. I ordered the Challenge stripes plus the JOHN COOPER WORKS wording from http://www.aestheticreations.net/sidestripes.htm and it arrived in 2 weeks. It looks pretty nice, so now I have to hire someone to install it.

The next time I'm waiting for are the Camden black headlight assembly. Those are still pending from the dealer with on ETA at this time.

So, it's finally done. Now on to the Camden lights, if and when they arrive.
