Cleaning the metal trim under the windows?

I've been searching the forum and havent found what im looking for. I just bought my car a couple weeks ago and im trying to keep it clean. One of the things I noticed today is the metal strip under the windows along the side of the car doesnt seem to get clean no matter what i throw at it. What can I use to clean that? Rest of the car looks great.

i guess my first question is what is exactly on that metal strip? meaning, is it water stains bird boop, etc.?

if it's water stains, use some vingar water 50/50 with tap water and spray at it for several minutes.

also try clay

also try some mild polish, but remember that the polish can stain the rubber strip around it.

you can Hydro it to keep it up.

on my car all i use is Griot's WindowCleaner these days just to wipe up any excess from cleaning the windows.

I use Ice in the spray bottle. It's not as sophisticated as the others recommended in the forums, but it gets the job done for me & doesn't affect the rubber strip.

For right now, its just water stains. I was more concerned with the fact nothing I was using cleaned it. I use ICE car soap, but that doesnt seem to be doing the trick. I will try the spray though, thanks!

yah, best is white vinegar with water 50/50 and just keep misting away.

if you follow up with either Ice spray or Hydro, things should be easier to
clean in the future. honestly you have a MINI. you and your car deserves
Hydro.

Hydro and Zymol wax on my list of things to get in the near future as is a good outdoor car cover. Can anyone make Coverking produce a stormproof car cover a little faster for my R57?

I use metal polish on an old tube sock turned inside out on that strip. Blue magic is the one I have. Makes it nice an shiney.
