I'm probably just crazy, but I'm getting cold feet...

I've ordered an OxyBlue/white top, white sport stripes, tuscan beige/anthacite interior. It's due to arrive in two weeks, and all the sudden I've begun to think I should have ordered a different color combo! Specifically, the sparkling silver, black bonnet stripes, redwood & anthracite interior. (I really shouldn't keep looking at pictures of everyone else's cars, haha.)

What should I do? I'm really afraid that I'll see my car in person and not be thrilled with it. It's such a big investment (for me) that I feel like I have to love it, and I worry that I'll drive off the lot feeling dissatisfied. What can I do to cure myself of these jitters? Anyone else have a similar experience, and how did it turn out for you?

Go with your 1st instinct

You sound like you have a nice build. I like the oxy blue/white with dark tinted windows, black wheels, and an MCS (mesh) style front grill......

After talking with some dent/paint repair pros I discovered silver tones are the hardest colors to match up if body work is required. I have a silver VW GLI right now, but I'll probably never buy a silver toned vehicle again......

Enjoy your Coop!

Well, you have a very nice color combo there. I'm sure you will be thrilled once you get to see it in person and motor off the lot . If you end up not liking the color at first sight, change the lighting and get a whole new shade of OxyBlue, that color has magic color changing powers.

I don't see the problem. I have a MCSa DS/W. My next door neighbor has an fine OXYBLUE/White Cooper.

I drool over his little Cooper all the time, his is base, 6 speed, cloth. He and his 18 year old son love it.

When they can get it away from his wife.

Go with it, your combo sounds wonderful.

Don

I have seen some awesome Sparkling Silver MINIs, too...and they are very classy....but Oxygen Blue is just such a fun, classically-inspired color on a MINI. It is a hue that is as home on a proper Mini/MINI as Chili Red. It is also the current reigning champ of rare.

The tuscon beige/anthracite header willl look good with the oxy blue exterior. Never thought of that combo until know, but you have a good eye. Cold feet are pretty normal, I've been going back and forth deciding on a color for 2 years....still can't decide between PW/PW and CR/CR...

Ahhh... you can get cold feet we all do. I even had cold feet on my red JCW, but after it's yours for awhile, what ever color you pick will grow on you. They all look good. Here I am at a little 240 mile road rally last weekend.

+1.

i had to wait almost four long months between when i put in my order last october til when i took delivery in january. the closer it got to delivery date, the more i worried that maybe i should have gotten BRG...or CR...or AB...or or or or....or that i should have gotten the premium package or different wheels or whatever. but as soon as they unveiled her at the dealership, i knew i got exactly the car that was perfect for me. sounds like you put a lot of thot into your MINI, so i have no doubt it will be the same for you.

I've got a similar build, OB/W (well just read the sig.), I was lucky enough to see an OB/W when we took our Test Drive, that SOLD it for US. Oxygen Blue is pretty rare around here, though I've seen a Total of maybe 5, not including MOLLY. Just that fact sold me on the OB/W. If you've not been able to see the exact color combo you are ordering I can see where you might be 'rethinking' things.

BUT...remember this is the car that YOU ordered/built for YOU!! You won't be disappointed in your specs. they look fantastic. If I had an ounce more $$ when I built MOLLY I might have a few more goodies. But she's built exactly they way I wanted her, nothing more nothing less...SHE'S PERFECT just the way she is!!

I originally had my heart set on Laser Blue, but when I drove a base Cooper and realized I didn't need the extra power, I went with OxyBlue (since Lightning Blue was too dark and the only other blue available on the base Cooper at the time - and it was too close to the color I had on my current car)...

NOW I can't see myself in any other color - I'm so happy to have a non-metallic (my opinion, easier to keep clean, and god forbid, easier to touch up) - I get TONS of compliments on the color, it's modern and retro at the same time...I think your combo will have a very classy feel to it...like gokartride and RJKimbell said, it's a rare color indeed, only available on the base Cooper hardtop..and it changes hue depending on the lighting too...

Sparkling Silver is nice, but there are SO many silver-ish cars on the road, why blend in? You can always change out the grille for a different look (the JCW grille makes it much sportier looking) and a different set of wheels down the line could add a new personality...I think you made a good choice!

To the OP - the worst case scenario is that you end up not liking your order and you lose your deposit. If you end up bailing your dealership may be nice enough to hold onto your deposit until your original car is sold off the lot to another buyer.

I agree with the others, though, you won't regret it. OB/W with Tuscan beige leather, wow I need to see pics of that, it'll look amazing.

I almost changed my order to Oxy blue. Very nice color, I decided to stay with BRG, which was my first instinct. Go with your first instinct, its usually the best.

MINIs love to be bright. Much of the appeal (to me) is the fact that they come in such awesome bight colors. Oxygen Blue is gorgeous!

I agree that sparkling silver, the other two silvers, and black are sharp, but when you have the choice of getting a rich, bright color, it seems obvious to me which to choose!

Your getting a MINI. they all look cool regardless of color!

I wanted laser-Blue to start with... but ended up with Chili Red. No disapointment for me!

All these people are talking about how minis should have some colour to them but they are the same people ordering black on black interiors. Redwood red is glorious, its my favourtie part of my car, and since the drivers seat is where i spend my time, thats what I find most appealing. Although i'm not crazy about the look of it with sparkling silver, I've got Dark silver. You will have cold feet, it won't end with the colour options, and it won't stop until you get your car. You will like your car just the way you ordered it. You went with that combo initially for a reason, don't panic, we're here to help.

I think we all second guess our orders until the day we see our MINI face to face. Remember it's a MINI. You'll love it.

I LOVE mine!

I have the same build (no anthracite, though). I am one who often ends up with buyer's remorse or second guessing myself, but oddly enough with my MINI, I really never did question it once I placed the order.
I am coming up on 6 months now and am still in love with the color as well as the interior.
The only thing I would like different if possible is the black and cream trim on the door. It just does not seem in sync with the rest of the interior, but it's minor and I'm used to it now.

Here's a not so good photo of the interior and one of the exterior.

Don't worry, I second guessed myself as I was signing the paperwork for mine...

But I love it. I'm sure you'll love yours too. Oxy blue is a beaaautiful colour. It's a great choice.
