Removing Interior Rings

How on earth do I get these god awful interior rings off??? Ive been searching for like an hour and all I could find is stuff like "They're easy to take off"

Im trying to get the tach/speedo rings (I have the chrono pack), The big center ring (the speedo ring on the non-chrono pack), hazard light button, gauge light button, a/c vents rings, and cup holder rings. I already got the shift boot ring.

Its a late 05 R50 if it matters

Do I just pull em? Turn then pull? Beat them with a stick? Jack hammer? Blow torch?

HALP

Which rings in particular? The vent rings come off after twisting (I believe clockwise). The center speedo ring just pulls off but it's difficult to grip and you may need to pry it up. The gearshift ring just pulls off (for manual, don't know about automatic). For the tach ring, you have to dismount the gauge and take it apart.

^^Dunno yet but I pulled off all the trim from the dash to paint so I figured Id just take them off too. I'll probably just plasti-dip em black. I'll take some pics as I go. Hopefully I'll be able to start tomorrow.

If you paint the speedo ring and vent rings with rustoluem indoo/outdoor flat black spray paint it is almost an exact match to the black panel they sit on. Much better than plasti-dip I think, and not that hard either.

If chrome rings were added by the previous owner, then I think they are put on with double sided tape.

if you ever plan reselling your MINI or trading it in, you'll be better served to stick with the plastidip, as it is 100% reversible unlike spray paint. I did mine several months ago....and anytime i want i can peel it off and bring back the ugly silver.
