Hey guys,

i'm looking to mod my Mini..

a friend of mine is a dealer and I can get a good deal on a Supersprint
system..



1.) Can I retain my stock Catback and change the downpipe and midpipe? or is the exhaust only compatible with it's aftermarket brethren? i.e. how "universal" and interchangeable are the parts?

ideally i'd like to change the downpipe and front pipe and perhaps the midpipe as well.. catback i'm not too concerned about since it's not restrictive to begin with and I can change it later down the road

2.) Supersprint sales a catless front pipe, my Euro mini has only 1 cat to begin with, does this mean I can remove it too? or will I be plauged with a CEL?

3.) If I do retain the Cat (most likely the case) how much muffling with it provide? do I still need the muffler in the midpipe? or will the cat be enough of a resonator/muffler?

I've seen video's on Youtube of their Exhaust.. it's obviously a full exhaust.. But I don't know which combo they're using: i.e Cat+mid muffler or Cat+no muffler or vice versa.. etc

judging from the sound.. i'd think it's straight pipe All the way to only the back box..

not sure tho..

4.) anyone know what the stock exhaust weighs? and how much weight savings potential there is?

on both my ///M5 and my RX7.. the stock exhausts weighed a TON.. and u could save 100+lbs just by swapping to aftermarket on the M5 and the Titanium catback exhaust on my FD was only 7lbs.. (the box it came in weighed more then the exhaust heh)
