DDM Race and a Way Heat Shield

DDMWorks R56 Race Intake System
WMW Turbo Heat Shield

I'm a previous MCS driver. I did zero research before impulsively trading that Mini in on my new '09 Clubman S. With that said I love my new turbo.

I do think it's kind of silly to have a non functional scoop on the hood. So I am to make it functional.

I have been reading the threads post here.
Which intake? Alta or DDM? (covers the DDM Street though)
M7 Super AGS v.s DDM RIS?
Turbo heat shield (seem we like the look of the M7, but the performance of the WAY)

On to my questions. Would the DDM Race intake and the WAY heat shield be the ultimate combination of heat reduction and getting to cold air in?

With the DDM Race should a dremel out the vents in the hood scoop screen or remove it completely. As you can see I live in Colorado. We don't use salt on the roads. We mostly use sand(large peices of sand) to de-ice the roads. I am concerned about road debri and WATER making it's way back into the air box.

Thanks!

Yes thats a great combo. Removing it is best, a dremmel will work. You can also make a custom screen. However removing will provide the best results. I live in California so, I cant comment on snow. But we have big sand and lots of road debris and the RAS works fine I used to have one on my car. Nothings getting sucked up there unless you jam it in on purpose. Or you are super un lucky.

i had a waymotorworks heat shield on my 07 and it works good. it will drop the under hood temp. install isnt too bad either. the ris combo sounds like a good match.
