Chico All British Car Show 04/26/09
The Chico Car Show was a great success! Better even than last year! REME members Rob & Alice Saunders got the first place award in the MINI Class judged by all attendees. Congratulations to you both!
REME was represented there with 3 cars. There was also a classic Mini there with no club affiliation. The showhad about 125 cars attending. It was much more organized than last year, had a single food vendor with excellent very reasonably priced food, a wine & beer vendor who also sold coffee, the local humane society with a booth with silent auction items, and local artisans showing their jewelry.
They did attempt to place like cars together, not completely successfully but done pretty darn well. The show officially opened at 10 am and was officially over by 3 PM, but in reality people started arriving at 8 am and the place was near empty when I left at 2:30 PM, except for the clean up crew who are likely still there cleaning up the mess.
The Chico Show does benefit some student programs, so there were a lot of college Coeds there assisting the organizer. A 4 piece Saxophone group entertained the masses and they were great! Much better than the student rock band there last year. I give this years Show a solid 'A' for effort and for pulling off another great event. I can't wait for next year's show!
