After the clay...
I just clayed with McGuire's clay and their QuickDetailer. I came across a couple of small dark bits still on the paint. Probably road tar, who knows what exactly. They've very small. Should I use a bit of wax and buff them out slightly (by hand) before appplying Epic, BG, and Hydro?
You sure don't want to wax over top of them and seal them under your wax. You want to get rid of them before you wax.
If clay didn't get them off, try some Bug And Tar Remover or just a little bit of WD-40 on a very soft rag (an old microfiber cloth would be preferable).

I would think wd-40 would apply its coating and repel wax then.
then you need a solvent for wd-40.
The solution for this is paint-prep stuff that autobody shops use. I just borrowed some. 3M makes it as well. works so much better than other recipes and is a final step.
