MAF/AFM vs MAP sensored Mini's

I probably wont be able to reply to this thread after creating it, due to new accounts being screwy.. but I wanted to gather some info and hopefully start a discussion
my Tuning background mostly pertains to japanese turbo cars.. but generally speaking.. i think alot of it carries over..

I've got a Euro spec mini

from what I can gather.. the major differences include 1 less Cat in the exhaust, no amber turn signals, as well as a Map sensor based car vs AFM for the states

does anyone know why it's MAP vs AFM? (the MK4 supra was the same, AFM in the states, Map in Japan)

are there any distinct advantages tuning wise to either/or?

are there any power differences in between specs?

with less restrictive intake as well as exhaust.. and lower emissions strictness

i'd think Euro mini's would be slightly more powerful...(our version of the 350Z here, had 17hp more than the US counterpart)

Speed density based systems tho, "guess" how much air is currently entering the engine using Pressure as well as AirTemp and TPS as inputs..

where as Maf actually measures the air passing through it..

when it comes to aftermarket support, will US and EU ecu's require different routes? or will they be interchangeable?

does anyone know upto what pressure our Map sensors can read upto? is it 2 Bar 2.5 or 3 Bar? (absolute pressure)
