Woohoo May 9th is Mini Cooper Night at the Big Mo!!!!

I still don't have word as to what is playing, but I spoke to the owner, she will list this on the website, so it will be a good chance to meet Mini owners in the area, or future mini owners.. She thought the movie would be Wolverine X mens origins.. She did want us to arrive a little early, gate opens at 7, So I figure we should be at the drive in around 6:15. We will meet at the Starbucks in Lexington at 5 pm, planning to leave there by 5:30.

Great job as always in planning MINI events for the club. I will try and make this, probably leave the next day for Black Hills of South Dakota run. All you other chapters need to get more involved.

 

I plan on being there. Sounds like a blast been a long time since I've been to a Drive In Movie.

Sounds great; have always wanted to check it out (I worked at a Columbia drive-in theater when I was 14 yrs old!!!....long, long time ago...oh what memories the old drive-ins bring back.... where do young people go today to do such things????)
If you go via Hwy #1 out of Lexington, you go right through the big town of Batesburg/Leesville, which is the home of "Mi Rancho's"; really Mexican authentic..good (cheap) food...great atmosphere (if you like Mexican, that is). If, if anyone would be interested, we could go earlier enough to have dinner there before "Big MO". Probably get there at 4:30 or 5; eat and motor on to the drive-in which is only another 2-4 miles down #1. If any interest, I can check it all out; reservations, hours, better directions, etc. ??

 

Jim sounds good.. we can still rendevous at Starbucks.. say 330?

Lilruffcat: Have you heard from either Cindy or Wendy on this trip. I'm trying to get the guys from Aiken with the new '09 cabrio to come also. What would be your guess on number of reservations (if such exist) at the Mexican restaurant? We thinking 4:30ish eating time or 5? Weren't we trying to get to the drive-in by 6pm (which seems awful early since it doesn't get dark until 7:30 or later); do we know exact movie starting time?

PS: Design has started on "portable MINI" for relay of Life!!

Ouch!!! I just called Mi Rancho's to confirm some sort of reservations, only to find out that this weekend is the Poultry Festival in Leesville; lot's of fun, but most of the main streets in Leesville are blocked off and Mi Rancho's is the only place in town to eat (possible 2 hr waits!!!!!). Now why would someone come to a "Poultry" festival and eat Mexican food, I'm not too sure, but that's what senor said. If we're still in for eating together, which would be great, there's plenty of eats right near the Targets at which we're meeting. We can motor on up Hwy 378 until it hits #1 then on to Monetta. Thoughts anyone????

The flight deck.. is ok.. wasn't one of my favs that we went to.. we h aven't had BBQ in a long time.. I vote for Hudson's... Good thinking calling them or we would have been waiting a long time!!!

 

Im not a big fan of flight deck. While on the other hand Hudson's BBQ was chosen as one of the top 4 BBQ restaurants in the southeast by Turner broadcasting. Might need to call ahead and see if they can save us a table or two as it is quite popular, but the line moves quick
