Removing chrome bumper pieces?

So i have an '04 MC and I have those chrome bumper pieces that I dont like so much. I plan on getting an Aero kit but until then, are they removable? I have seen lots of Minis without them. Its like they are removed and body color underneath. Any help?

From what I understand they were a kit and stuck to the body with adhesive most of the time. you could remove but you might not be happy with how your paint is left behind when removing.

Ag,
If you pull them off you will find a bunch of holes. Better to leave them until the aero mission...

Can I have your chrome strips when you're done with them? I want to add them to my car. I'll pay for the shipping plus $10 is they're still useable. Thanks.

I think I am going to plastidip those on the front and rear bumpers. I just really don't like how they look, especially since I am dechroming the entire car. I wish they were individual pieces, not sure how I'm going to tackle these yet.

Bumper insert pieces in black plastic - like the wheel arches - for '04 and earlier none S are avaiable from MINI. I have a rear black insert for cheap if you want it.

What happens if you remove these, how do you remove them. HAS ANYONE DONE THIS! I hate these trim pieces and want them gone. This is the only problem I've had with my R50 and I can't figure it out for the life of me!

I know I'm late but you need to remove the front and rear bumpers, remove the precausionary glue that's used to hold the tabs on the backside of the bumper, and then GENTLY pop the tabs (from the backside) while you pry the chrome cover off from the front. -Hopefully this helps.
