Black Wow no sticky

Learned from previous experience to apply BW before I wash the car.

However, this time I clayed and taped in preparation for Amigo/Epic so I can't make by baby purty for AMVIV.

I discovered that my blue tape will not stick to the trim after it's been Wow'ed.

Rats...

I've mentioned that on here before.

You basically have two options if you use BW on the trim.

1. Tape just above the trim, on the paint. You don't get that 3 or 4 mm of paint polished that way though.

2. Slap on a coating of BW just before you polish/wax. When you're done, wipe off the excess BW and the polish/wax should come with it and not stick to the trim.

Exactly ^

No need to tape the trim if it has a fresh coat of BW and you're not spastic with the PC...

But I hate taping. So the BW slathering shall commence.

when is AMVIV again? is it this weekend or next weekend?

I have also noticed the BW seems to work better on the black plastic trim of the 1st gen MINIs vs the new ones.

Still, the best trim protectant/cleaner in the market today and I also apply it before washing the car.

There are a number of different ways to apply BW. What I've learned is that for maximum durability, applying it as a final step using the Trim Masking card to avoid getting on the paint is the best way, though you will experience some dust attraction until the first wash.

Applying it before a wash prevents the dust attraction problem, but it also reduces the durability unless you do like my most recent application notes and let it soak into the trim for several hours before doing the wash.

It's true that tape doesn't stick to BW'd trim, but neither does polish/wax, lol..well it doesn't stick as well as trim without BW.

I haven't seen any difference in the tests I've done. The 2nd gen arches are easier to apply BW than 1st gen because there is a gap at the point between the body panel and the plastic.
