Does a stoic gauge always point in the same middle spot all the time or something? - unaffected by outside stimulus.

Stoic-
n.
 1. One who is seemingly indifferent to or unaffected by joy, grief, pleasure, or pain.
 2. Stoic A member of an originally Greek school of philosophy, founded by Zeno about 308 B.C., believing that God determined everything for the best and that virtue is sufficient for happiness. Its later Roman form advocated the calm acceptance of all occurrences as the unavoidable result of divine will or of the natural order.
adj. also sto·i·cal (-ĭ-kəl)
 1. Seemingly indifferent to or unaffected by pleasure or pain; impassive: "stoic resignation in the face of hunger" (John F. Kennedy).
 2. Stoic Of or relating to the Stoics or their philosophy.

I'm too educated for my own good...

Yeah, i know i pulled that from dictionary.com, but I knew of it before looking, hence my earlier comment.

I had the directions for this install at one point, as there was a company that used to offer it before OutMotoring. I can see if I can find them when I get home.

I'm sorry everyone... I know now you meant stoichiometric. I had almost forgot chemistry. About all my comments above, I was only trying to be funny, really.

Dont worry, I was getting ready to make a post that said "what is the point of installing a gauge that doesnt move?" In any event no harm no foul on everyones part.

My only concern with this is blocking the air flow for the A/C. But it does look super clean and OEM.

You will just get more air out of the other vents.

After some people helping me ( thank you ) and some investigation i was just about to order trim rings here

http://www.outmotoring.com/mini-coop...gauge-kit.html

i have a problem however. The trim rings clearly say that they mount 2 5/8" guages but autometer and stewart warner dont offer anything but 2 1/8" guages. Actually its very hard for me to find a 2 5/8" guage...?
am i missing someting? these dont adjust do they? i wouldn't think so.
if anyone knows or can point me to some higher quality 2 5/8" guages please chime in!

60mm gauge will fit right in the air vent. I just popped off the dash, there are two screws holding the speedo to the top of the dash and then you can get to the plastic that holds the vents together. Dremel away I ran the wires underneath the dash because drilling into the air ventilation wasnt my cup of tea. I kept the flaps in the rear and just glued them shut to stop full blast air from attacking my gauge. I also siliconed the gauge into the vent

Autometer makes a bunch of 2 5/8" gauges...but the A/F gauges they have(and from other manufacturers as well) are only 2 1/16". You would definitely have to make an adapter to fit one of them in the OutMotoring gauge ring.

As far as the directions...I couldn't find them. They were not where I thought they were, but i'm still looking.

Can't seem to find any DIYs yet, but I'll keep looking. As for some 2 5/8 A/F guages:

http://www.dealmonger.com/MSD-2-58-A...38981C236.aspx

http://www.racerpartswholesale.com/c...el_Ratio_Gauge

Not much, but I'll check for more.
