do the turbo-only MCS guys need to change any engine internals?

We have made 397whp on stock engine using our base turbo kit (gt2871), custom intake manifold, front mount intercooler, custom fuel system running VP MS109.
you can easily make 300whp on the stock engine (stock intake manifold and fuel system) by removing the s/c and bolting on a turbo conversion kit (incl. electric water pump and upgraded I/C). the weak link is the factory piston and upgrading them to one of our forged designs manufactured by JE Pistons is recommended, but with proper tuning, the engine can reliably produce the power running pump gas (91 octane)

I think they were asking about the standard Cooper R50 turbo DR FUH.
I would think you'd need deep dish forged pistons at a bare minimum(or cheap out and plunk on a head spacer to melt your stock pistons). Uprated exhaust valves would be nice to handle the high exhaust temps. If you cheap out go ahead and play with the boost until the stock rods or crank let go!
thats great!
This is an awesome thread... I'm trying not to look at my bank statment right now.......Must....NOT...............Spend......... ...more..........
