Yet another newbie...

Hi Folks. Yes, I'm another one of the newbies. Ordered my new MCS on 2/16, which just happened to be my 51st birthday. I've wanted this for a LONG time, so you know how excited I am!! Right now, I'm told to expect delivery at the end of April, so I'll probably miss MOTD. But, I'm contemplating going out to Minis in the Mountains depending on other participants from this area. Well, hopefully I don't lose my sanity until my car gets here!!

Congrats on the new Mini. But as the saying goes, the wait is well worth it. Welcome from Charlotte.

Congratulations!! We are a 2 Mini family. My husband (SSSSSSSS) and I both ordered ours, at different times, and followed the progress of the birth and transportation on-line.
You don't, however, have to wait until your Mini arrives to join in at our Meet and Eats and get aquainted with fellow Mini Owners and see if you would like to join our club. Our next one is March 3rd (see the post) and you can give us the details on your new baby.

Congrats on the purchase and happy birthday! MOTD is at the end of April, so maybe it is fate that you try to make it anyway

Looking forward to seeing you on the road with a grin like this:

PS- I think there is a clause in your order that requires you to brag about your MINI's specs... so spill the beans. Color, type, interior, accessories, c'mon, everyone is waiting

My apologies, I lost my head!! I'd take any opportunity to brag on my new baby!! It's an MCS, Chili Red with Black Roof, and Black Cloth Interior, 6 speed, cold weather package, sport package, premium package, 17" web spokes with run flats, auto dim rear view mirror, factory aero kit, chrome line interior, fluid silver dash trim, SIRIUS, bluetooth/iPod adapter, rear fogs, checkered sunroof graphic.

I've already ordered some springs and sway bar from Alta. Just have to find the right place locally to have them installed. I keep hearing Grass Roots Garage, so I'll have to give them a call. Can't wait!!!!

Yup, I have my MA @ Hendrick and 1-866-ASK_MINI both programmed in my speed dial already!! They'll likely be ready to block my number before long!! LOL! I just wish I could get a build date. I'm told it should be within the next 2-6 days, but no concrete date yet. UGH!!

Don't forget, the weekend shifts at Oxford are no longer in service, so either it'll start today, tomorrow, or Monday.

It's an absolute pain to wait, I know. I even wrote a widget for OS X a while back while waiting so I could keep an eye on the status without pulling up the website.

I'm glad you mentioned that. I forgot about the weekend shifts. Well, lets hope it starts today or tomorrow. PM me and let me know how your widget works. Thanks.

Well, unfortunately, due to work, I don't think I can make the Mount Rushmore trip, even though I'd love to. That's a beautiful part of the country. I am going to try to make the Minis in the Mountains trip in August. Do you know if anyone in the club is going to try that trip?

ATCRich, yes I go to Minis in the Mountains. I haven't missed one yet, and went after surgury last year with the help of my son who just reitred 21+ years in Air Force. I will probably be leaving early and going out to spend a few days NW of Denver in Lakewood with a friend who works for NASCAR. That way this old body can get acculamated to the oxygen level. First year I was barely walking and huff & Puff'n so bad thought I was going to die. It takes about 1 day for every 1000 feet above sealevel to get use to it. Copper Mtn is almost 10,000. One year there were 4 Minis from Charlotte and we always leave Sunday morning drop down to Colorado Springs and do Pikes Peak. Last year delayed going up Pikes for about 2 hours due to snow. Maybe you can make the Wings tomorrow night would love to meet you and don't worry if you don't have the Mini yet. Luke
