R50/53 On board computer
On board computer
How do you switch the display on the tach if you have an OBC? I don't know if my mini came with it, im pretty sure it didnt. But where would the button be located or how is the display usually cycled through? like from mpg to how many miles are left on the tank to temp.
also if you dont have the onboard computer how do you make it display the digital speedometer on the tach instead of the temp? and vice versa.
Thanks in advance.

If you have a '04 and newer R53 MCS:
Beginning with MY2004, MINI included the digital tach speed LED readout regardless of whether you ordered the optional OBC trip computer or not.
If you don't have OBC, the only read outs available to you (By cycling the turn signal/lights stalk button) will be exterior ambient temperature "Temp" and speed "Speed".
If you do have OBC in your car, you will be able to cycle through the following prompts:
Ambient temperature
Speed
Miles to empty
Average fuel consumption
Instant fuel consumption
Average vehicle speed
Again, these prompts will be visible by cycling the turn signal stalk button.
If you have a 2002 or 2003 MINI (MC or MCS) without OBC, the only prompt you will get in the tach is for exterior ambient temperature and no stalk button.
If your '02-'03 MINI has OBC, you will have all of the prompts listed above, except, actual vehicle speed.
Hope this helps.
PS: Read the owner's manual that came with your car. If you don't have it, you can either download the correct manual for your model year from the MINI Owner's Lounge or Motoringfile.com for free. The manuals are available in PDF Acrobat reader format.

i have an '03 MC and it only shows temp, miles, avg. fuel consumption, and avg. speed...
i REALLY wish it had instant fuel consumption and actual speed.
