OEM MINI GPS (Garmin) Nuvi
I just got the MINI (Garmin) GPS unit from Morristown MINI. I was dissapointed that there was not a GP car available for the Maps. I am reffering to the car that "leads" you down on map. Is there any way to download one or maybe create one somehow?
I seem to remember... there is a thread floating around.. that is old.. that someone was doing this, making lil mini cooper icons for their factory nav.. I was excited about doing it.. but in reading the instructions on how to do it, it became clear to me, that there was no way I could do it, without mucking it up.. so as I rarely eye the gps while I am driving unless it was time for me to make the turn, I chose not to do it. If I can find the thread I'll post the link.
I have the website that is hosting the MINI files. I'll see if I can get a GP MINI made. Another NAM member has been kind enough to make these icons and I will talk to him and see if he has time to make the GP one (or if it is possible). Will post back with results
Talked to the guy who does the icons. He has tried several times to do the GP icon without success. Due to the size and the resolution that it is displayed on the nav screen he cannot make it look good. He is going to keep trying but it may take a while.

Hey thanks, as long as roof is silver, mirrors are red, wing is black, and body is Thunder Blue thats fine. No need for number or decals.
I don't mean to hijack or change the direction of this string because I too am interested in the icon idea. But I have a question...
The OEM Garmin Gps appears, from the pictures, to be a 680. According to the Garmin website it is not a current model. it can be purchased online for under $200, a lot less than Mini asks for it.
My question is for those of you knowledgable of GPS's on the market: if you were buying a GPS for your Mini, would you buy the 680. If not, and you were buying a Garmin, what model would you buy. From the Garmin website, there are 24 Nuvi models available.
I ask this because I have ordered my Mini without GPS and I currently have a Lowrance iWay 600c which I like but feel is way too big for use in a Mini.

Yeah
I got Morristown MINI for $313,
but I really wish is had optimize option.
If you don't need the optimize route option just get the Shack one and download a MINI icon.
I'm trying to find a icon of a GP.
Current Mini/Garmin Model is what?
Does anyone know what the current Mini-Branded Garmin model is as of May 2009? I have asked my MA many times and she has failed to ever get the info to me.
My mini is scheduled to complete assembly today and I'd like to have a new GPS when it arrives. I'm afraid the Mini models are all out of date (discontinued) though and for the $399 they are charging it should be the latest and greatest nuvi.
