Alabama FINALLY to get a MINI dealership

In an article in the Birmingham Business Journal today we finally have the announcement for a opening of a new MINI Cooper dealership in June, 09.

I just saw this in the Birmingham news on-line. This is great news! Sure took long enough. Now we won't have to drive to Nashville or Atlanta for service. Tom Williams is about 60 miles from us; sure beats a couple of hundred! It's ironic that MINI will be occupying the former Cadillac dealership which is being sold to Serra and moving to their Kia dealership!?!? Cadillac @ Kia???? This explains why Tom Williams never started on a building for MINI. I bet you can put a lot of MINIs in a Cadillac showroom. There's going to be a lot more MINIs in Alabama!

Odd that we have Larry Langford to thank for this.

This was my first thought. There's gonna be alot more people to join in on the rides and Mini shannigan's! And alot more Mini drivers out there to wave at ~ "The more we get together, the happier we'll be"

This is good news. Yep it's about time. I will be able to get service while I'm visiting my daughter in B'ham.

Great news! Isn't it ironic, in light of "that commercial", that a cadillac dealership is being ditched for the Mini!

Been to Global? Their "cafe" sells coffee and pastries and has, as I recall, two small tables. Very "low rent" for an upscale dealership. Set your expectations low; that way you won't be disappointed.

Looks like the dealership opened..my mom took her mini over there the other day just to see about getting all her work done there. She previously had to go to Atlanta. But anyway, they had no problem taking her business away from that BMW dealership!! HAHA
She said it was nice there. No more dealing with snobby BMW in Atlanta!!

Too bad Tom Williams MINI doesn;t have a service department!

They call it a service department but they provide anything but service. I guess they think they are dong the customer a favor by help them rather than the customer doing them a favor by using them. If you are unfortunate enough to have to deal with them. Do not expect to be told the truth, do not expect to get a callback from your service rep, do not expect to get a call back from the service manager, do not expect to get a callback from anyone, do not expect to talk to a person when you call, do not expect an honest answer from them, do not expect anything from them except a runaround. (Talk about a bunch of people will inflated self-worth).
