Columbia Meet and Eat Feb 7th

Feb 7th @ 3 pm. ( I know it was posted to begin tailgating at noon, but I spoke to AJ today and it will be at 3 pm)
Colonial Center
801 Lincoln St
Columbia SC

Mini of Charleston is sponsoring a tail gating party.. the tickets for the game, and parking are FREE! This sounds like alot of fun. There will be a dedicated parking area for MINIs only!!! The game is USC against University of Georgia!!

We can meet at Starbucks on Garner's Ferry Rd @ 2 p.m. and motor on over together.
This will be alot of fun, I hope that we can see alot of support for this... as always any gather of a bunch of minis is a BLAST! If you would like to go.. pls post here, or call Mini of Charleston and speak to Robbie, and get on the list!!!

I wonder if I can recruit one of the guys from my office for the half-court toss? Would that be considered cheating?

Yikes!!! You not being from around here, you may not know about the Clemson/carolina thing. I'd break out is some sort of hives if I went anywhere near chicken u. I'd have to pull for the dogs and have to fight my way out. Sorry but my blood runneth orange (I really, really wanted an orange MINI cabrio, but they didn't make it in '07)!!! I'll have to catch you on the next run.

o.k. I give up, football is over is this basket ball? If so, well I just don't understand it. Overgrown guys trying to hit a basket they can dunk? No its not for me but now tailgating I am all for it but have no desire to go to a game. Won 4 tickets to Charlotte Pro game and gave them away. Need some good spiked starbucks to get me there.

I KNOW I said I would like to do this - but, alas, work and the scheduling gods have once again intervened. We will be in Birmingham
Have fun and we'll catch the next trip for sure.

Regards,
S&L

P.S. nice video Carol - I owe you now

Does anybody know the guy that tows a grille behind his MINI? I think he is a professional chef and we thought it would be pretty cool to have him cook for us.

we were uninvited

I wanted very much to have a chance to meet some other mini owners.

However when I responded to the e-mail that Mini of Charleston sent me about the game they said I was not invited because I did not buy my Mini from the Charleston dealership. How Rude! Why did they send me an e-mail inviting me?

Did all of you purchase your Minis from Charleston?

I was REALLY looking forward to this Saturday. Will any of you possibly be meeting somewhere else in Columbia?

Hey granolaeeter,

I appologize for the rudeness you experienced. Currently I am trying to find out who responded to you in such a way, but in the mean time I would like to make things up by guaranteeing your attendance to the USC event if you would still like to join. All I need to know is how many tickets you will need. Let me know if I can do anything else. Also, the easiest way to reply is by contacting my direct line @ 843-402-6308. Please accept our sincerest appologies.

I'm quite surprised. I did not receive an e-mail; I called them, based on Ruffcat's post. I did not buy my MINI from Charleston. I did not ask them about it, nor did they ask. Do you have the name of the person with whom you spoke? Perhaps this is a misunderstanding. I have no qualms about calling down there to see what's what. I don't want to point a finger, but if you were misinformed, I'm sure they'd like to know who, so they can correct the misunderstanding.

I didn't see MINI of Charleston' post here. Good show! I thought it must be a misunderstanding. Thank you for sponsoring this event. We are looking forward to it.

BTW, I do not know the man who tows a grill behind his MINI, but will see if I can possibly find out.

Just an update on Mini of Charleston:
A very nice fellow called me today and told me that there had been a misunderstanding. We are going to the tailgate party and I really appreciate the fact that the dealership took the time and trouble to follow up on this issue - Thanks again!

I looked, and the only hit I could find looking for a guy who drives a MINI, hauling a grill was a 2004 reference to someone named "Bill" in the Pittsburg, PA MINI club. Apparently, he converted an old Mini into a grill and hauled it with an MCS ...

I called the number at Charleston MINI's; got an answering machine; left a message about wanting two tickets for the game, but got responce. Same thing happened when I left a message there wanting to participate in the driving event in Savannah, GA. They finally called me with an appointment time 30 minutes before my assigned time (I'm 3.5 hours away!!!) I'm hoping they got the message about tickets and are bringing up an extra two. TILLEY is planning on being there (go DOGS!!)
