Today I had my windshield replaced with PPG glass looks good except they cracked my A pillar in half.

Yes they ordered me a new one but it still ticks me off

So our club has had two windshield replacements over the past six months from different local vendors, and both resulted in damage. Not a good track record.

Maybe I'll get to look at the guts under your missing pillar tomorrow...might learn a few things. This item doesn't seem to get any coverage in the Bentley manual. I had actually posted some detailed questions about the A-pillar fasteners in another window replacement thread this week -- even gave it a subsequent bump -- but the heretofore reliable NAM knowledge base has failed me so far.

 

PPG Glass is a bad fit for the MINI according to the dealership. Might want to test for leaks before any real rains.

Sorry about the pillar though, that sucks a lot.
