Horizon blue, interchange yellow, mid-black pics inside

Monitor calibration counts a LOT towards if what you see is the actual shade you'll see in person. They don't look absolutely correct on my monitor.

Horizon blue looks like a mix between space blue and cool blue,
Midnight black is a true black like jet black with a little metallic in it.
Interchange yellow - this one looks like a yellow/green mix. In the shade i was reminded of pea soup. It looks better in the sun.

Anyway, here are the pics:

When I went to the MiniUSA build section, I saw what looked like a new yellow. Thanks for the confirmation post. I kinda dig it... And the horizon blue looks nice too (that is the horizon blue on the convertible from the mini site, isn't it?).

I think those are right, yes?

My real question is, is this the horizon blue in real life, or an older color?

Cool Blue? Thanks. That is a fantastic color. I rather like the horizon too, but the cool is something else.

The pics posted above from miniusa look closer to the actual color on my monitor than the color chips do.

The horizon blue looks more cool blue than space blue.

that yellow is worse than the mellow, and black shouldn't sparkle! They should stick with the lightning blue, thats a good blue.

you'll be happy to know the black has minimal sparkle. It's almost not a metallic. There is dust on the color chip that may look like sparkles (and show it's gonna be a pain to keep clean)

I'm not wild about Interchange Yellow (looks like something a baby would leave in a diaper). However, Horizon Blue looks to be a really nice color - it looks very nice on a JCW Hardtop with white or black roof. :-)

+1!
Out of all the new colors, the yellow leaves just a bit to be desired! The black is awesome and so is the blue. The yellow is just a bit too close to the yellow that ford was using a couple of years ago.

I don't like the yellow either. I mean, if you're going to get yellow it should be YELLOW not greenish-yellow. What were they thinking?

I like the others though.

Ugh... I shudder just thinking about Zinc Yellow.

I can't imagine interchange yellow is THAT ugly in person.

Having gotten the chance to see the "interchange yellow" in person at the Detroit Autoshow, I'd have to say that I didn't really notice much of a green hue. There might be a small hint of it. If anything Interchange yellow looks very much like the original Liquid yellow in that it almost has a hint of "pastel" in certain lights.

Here are two pics I took. It's pretty close to the actually color.

from the pictures that yellow looks better than the current yellow. I liked liquid yellow the best, but then, I liked Dakkar yellow from BMW.

Please keep in mind your monitor can make it look very different than it does in person.

Yes this is very true. Especially between macs and PC's, the difference in color on a monitor can be astounding.

My personal "in person" perception is that it's not as rich as the R56 Mellow Yellow which has a bit more red in it. Interchange is a bit pastel as it goes whiter in direct light. There may be a slight hint of green in it when it's shadowed but it's not something you notice when looking at the car. I can't put my finger on it, but it does have its differences from the Liquid yellow of the first gens.

I'd say the Dakar Yellow on the 3 series is a good comparison. Interchange is kinda like that, but with a little bit more saturation.

I really like the blue! And the black, while not JB, will probably come closer to making the JB-purists a little happer

I like the MB so much I ordered it.

I've been told it's like the black on the roofs of the current MINIs (with black roofs). I'll know for sure come February, when it arrives.

I wondered if it was the same black that is used on the roof.

I didn't even notice the flake in the roof at first. The black used on the roof has such a small flake and is so dispersed that it appears flat if you are more than a few inches away.

Unless things have changed this year, Black roofs on non-black MINI's have always been Jet Black even after they discontinued jet black as a body color option.

Thanks for the pics.

The first one doesn't look bad however, the second picture clearly looks greenish-yellow to me.

As others have said, I should hold out judgment until I see it in person. I still say a yellow car should be strikingly yellow, without a hint of another color...but that's me.
