Alright, I was thinking that everyone should post their pictures of when you picked up your brand new, shiny, beautiful Mini. New or used of coarse.

For me it was a wonderful winter day in Minnesota. There is actually a big story behind my Mini, but I ended up finding her at a Honda dealer. December 15th 2007.


The test drive. I look like an idiot with that hat on.

This is about 20 min after purchasing the Mini from a local used car lot. Did not take pics as the lot sadly.

this was 3 days before i took delivery...snuck out to take a look..moved it a whole 3 feet to get in the trunk lol

 

The picture in my signature below was taken on the same day ...in a better shoveled end of town. Note the temporary plate in the rear window ...and I'd already changed the wheels !

All these months later and I am still not done fixing him up.

 

On the truck with a co-worker's WRX! Only two vehicles on this trip from Albuquerque to Las Vegas. YAY!!

Wow!!! I bought my mini at a honda dealer too! but in NJ, well congrats! I love the color!

I found my mini at a Honda dealer too! Went in for an oil change and went out with a new car too!

 

within the first week i had my wheels/tires ready to go!

Oh man..... well... I don't have any pictures of the day I picked up the first one. But I do have the day I have my current one....

So i came home to my parents house one day and opened my garage to find this beauty sitting there.

I found my Mini on Craigslist and had only seen pictures and communicated to the previous owners via email. They were great, and the sale was Karma as they really loved the car but were forced to sell because of a new baby. The car was beautifully maintained and I have carried on the tradition.

After a 2 1/2 hour drive, this is what I saw for the 1st time when I pulled up to their house to purchase it. How could I not fall in love with this car! I had the biggest smile on may face for the 2 1/2 hour drive home with my teenage daughter in the passenger seat and my wife following me in the Highlander.

 

We found ours on online and exchanged email/phone calls with the previous owner until we decided to purchase it. Drove about 4 hours and picked it up. The ride home was very enjoyable since my wife was nice and decided to switch vehicles with me once we got off the insterstate and on to the twistys!

The Story:
March 2007- Went into Motorwerks Mini just for a look-see, Charlie the MA showed me a 2006 Cooper sitting in the showroom that was pretty basic, but had what I needed. Ended up walking away. It was still a little too expensive. As I continued my search throughout spring and summer, all I found was one that was about the same as at the dealer, on ebay, in MN. I didn't really look into it because I never really looked at the ones without buy it now prices on them.
December 14th 2007- Was down in the Twin Cities visiting my brother and of coarse going to the dealer to see whats new. Nothing was there that I wanted so we went to Wendy's for lunch and saw in the news paper, an ad for a 2006 Cooper, blue, etc etc at a Honda dealer 1/4 mile from Motorwerks Mini. Went over there the next day to see it. I drove it, I liked it, it was a good price, I bought it. It didn't occur to me until I was driving the next day that it was the same car I almost bought at the dealer back in March.
I bought it with 2400 miles on it and a way better price than new. Apparently the guy who bought it new, drove it for a few months and found out his wife was pregnant unexpectedly, so he traded it in for a Honda.

Long story I know, but how ironic. The one I wanted originally, I ended up getting it.

thank you! they're 17x7 +42 offset asa ar2's with 215/40/17 kumho ecsta asx tires and custom aesthetic creations domed mini wings center cap decals. they weigh about 44 lb per tire/wheel. a bit beefy but they look awesome... when clean!

 

My first look at the MCS at Prestige in NJ. It was quite an exciting moment for me.
