Rework the stickies on this forum?

Do the stickies on this forum need to be looked at? There is some pretty old info and very little traffic on a couple of them. This would need the help of a NAM Moderator, and the OK from the thread starter. Just seems to me there is some clutter at the top of the page.

Please post what should or should not be done.

Mark

I agree with you.

I think we could use stickies for:

General process (listing products for various lines, maybe different posters could contribute - one for DP, one for Meg's, one for Zaino, etc)

The Care and Keeping of MF

Dealing with black trim

Everything you need to know about the PC and polishing

Maybe one for cosmoline?

Just trying to think of the things we have questions about allllllll the time...it would be nice to just be able to refer those people to whichever sticky they need to read.

Ha, well maybe not delete, but unsticky them!

The black trim one could stay, and the MF one...but the rest could probably go, and we could come up with new ones that are more relevant.

Once you come to a consensus PM me a list which ones need to stay as stickies and which don't and I'll clean it up.

Great start I did not mean delete, but unstick, sorry. Let them hold their own in the drift down the pages

Nathan (gnatster) thanks for picking up on this. Keep an eye on the thread over the next few days, let folks chime in, then maybe we do things.

One idea I have about them, is they also be locked, no replies/questions. Just info written up by members/vendors. Then if there is an issue about a stickie/stuck thread, it gets it's own thread. Then the main info is not lost in discussion, that is the reason for a forum. The stickies should be "read only".

If that's what ya'll want that fine. I'd love to say I'll keep an eye out for this but frankly with all the other stuff I have to follow this might get lost. When you have what you want worked out wither PM or use Contact Us to get me. I get all the Contact Us emails so it will get in my queue of site issues to be worked.

I agree, they should be locked so they don't get all convoluted with other discussion.

What do we think we need up there? As far as stuff we get alllllll the time that we're sick of answering

Oldies but Goodies

There is still very valid advice and information in those stickies. I for one refer to them on a regular basis and would hate to see them disappear.

Thank you for leaving them.

It seems some do, and some don't want to change the stickies. So I say we leave them alone. But then I could also say that we change them, but no one is really looking at bettering the site, so I really don't give a fiddlers fart.
