2008 was terrible so we Bought a MINI today - Jan 2nd 2009

First off, I want to thank all of you at North American Motoring.com, with access to all the incredible information the members provide, We were able to decide just what we wanted and what we should pass on. So this afternoon we drove to Ferman Mini / Mini of Tampa Bay, FL and placed our order with our Motoring Advisor Bob Annis, We had visited Ferman Mini twice in the last six weeks and both times Bob has taken the time to answer all our questions and shown us the options we were concerned about. This was a wonderful no pressure experience that we are very very happy with...Thank You Bob---
The Car: 2009 Cooper S Chili Red w/ Red Roof & Mirrors, Sport Package, Premium Package, Rear Fog Lamps, 6-Speed Automatic (Spouse Required) Chrome Line Interior, Anthracite Headliner, Leather/Cloth Rooster Red, Brushed Alloy Interior Surface. Added Black Bonnet Stripes (Not available from factory with body color roof ??) Front & Rear Floor Mats, Rear bumper protection pad, and Front & Rear Mud Guards. Production Number in a couple of days per Bob -
Thanks Everyone Mark, Sharon and our son Sean who can't wait for delivery.
P.S. Soon to be member of the CROC

Ummmm, this doesn't count until you post a pic .

Congrats, ownership gets better each day. I sometimes can't believe how lucky I am to be able to afford and drive such a very cool car.

Drive safe.

Congratulations! Red/red is a great color combo, and not one of the most common. Now build your MCSa on miniusa.com and put it in your sig!!

Congratulations! I bought a Mini on 1/2/09, too. Mine's an 09 Cooper, British Racing Green w/ white roof & mirror caps and bonnet stripes. 6 speed manual, premium & sport packages and bluetooth. Bought mine off the lot; didn't have the patience to do a custom order.

Congrats and welcome aboard.

You are right about 2008, worst year since Great Depression. But we will pull out of it stronger.

Nice colors and good to see folks are stilling ordering MINIs.

Pictures and stories in a few weeks will be appreciated. I like the CR/CR combo.

Edit: artmem, your Cooper looks good, some more pictures? Was the 09 new or demo, not many 09s on the lot. Congratulations.

I was visiting Tampa last summer and my check engine light came on.

I went to Ferman MINI early on a Friday morning and they took my car right in...replaced O2 sensor and I was back on the road in less than 2 hours.

They were great for me for service.

Congratulations on the new MINI,

Dave

Congrats!

We just picked up our MINI from Ferman MINI on the 29th!

Bob and Aaron tag-teamed as our MA's and both were great to work with.

Congrats again... good luck with the wait!

The waiting is killing me!! I'm going on Wednesday to order (was originally going to order on tuesday but oh well)..... And then after that it still has to be buitl!! AAAGGHHHHHH!!

At least on Wed. I'll become a member of the chocolate clubman owners club.

How many others out there find the waiting the hardest/exciting part?

congrats on the new Mini! Nice color combination as well. Much red!

I love the red leather interior, but they wouldn't install it in the Lightning Blue.

1964 Checker Marathon. Those can double as a 2nd home! Congrats on your new build. The red/red combo isn't seen often. I stopped by Scottsdale Mini last week, saw my MA. He said they sold 80 cars in December. Not bad. They had some very nice Clubmen there. My wife wants one.

Thanks! Mine was new (had 7 miles on it). I'd say they had about 15-20 '09s on the lot. Here are some pictures.

Hello Everyone,
The MINIUSA owners lounge updated my order to Scheduled for Production, So I called 1-866-ASK-MINI and went thru the phone prompts to find out my production status. Vehicle is scheduled for completion on Jan 13th. I'm overjoyed since I only ordered on Jan 2nd Wow that is much faster than I imagined. Life is Good, Life is Real Good.....

Congratulations! Now that you have a production number you need to go hit the 'how to track your mini' thread. It's is Not about racing. It's about how to figure out where it actually is and have more info about it's status than the MINI USA or your dealer. My MA hates it when we call him up and say "I see our car is arriving tomorrow. When you gonna have it ready?"

(OH - and don't forget to check and see if your dealer ordered the right car... [there's a sneaky way of verifying what options are on your production number])

Good Morning, Just an update---- Spoke with a very nice girl by the name of Kelly at MINIUSA last night and she informed me that my vehicle was in the body shop on Thursday, The factory is closed Friday thru Sunday and that my vehicle will be painted on Monday and Assembled on Tuesday. Almost want to pay to have the car Fedex'd to me..... Almost.

The long wait on the dock will be here before you know it. Watch out for the pubs. If your MINI gets too drunk to find his/her way back to the ship, they leave without you.

Be sure to go to 1st gear and read "how to track your MINI".
