TPMS comes on and then goes off?

If the TPM light comes on and then goes away, does that mean it's OK? It came on and stayed on once and I aired them up and reset it (first cold spell). Since then (probably 6 weeks ago) about 3 or 4 times I've been driving for a few minutes and it'll come on, then go off. I'm assuming that maybe as the tires warm up the pressure increases and then it negates the need for the warning?

I have the same thing happen. I bought a digital tire pressure gauge that goes to tenth of a pound. I set all tires the same (36 lbs for my runflats) and check them every couple weeks. But yes, the cold weather seems to cause the problem, then driving seems to warm them up and the warning light goes off.

Correct. Tires just need to warm up - happens to me every morning.

Edit: Greg just beat me to it.

I have had this too. Tire pressure was always correct though. It has always happened when it was cooler out but other times it has been colder and it didn't come on.

What's weird is mine just comes on long enough for me to realize what it is, then disappears. It's as if it waits for "x" minutes after starting the car before it alerts you, but then by the time it alerts you, the pressure has raised sufficiently to no longer need the warning...yet it has to clear out the alert so it just comes on and then goes away?

I would think if I got in the car with a flat tire that the monitor would go off? So my idea above doesn't really make sense. Unless there's a built-in delay if the tire is only slightly low?

Correct tire pressures are always set with the tire cold. The tire pressure will change with air temp. I thought most of the pressures were 38 psi. In the winter tires need to be checked more frequently because of the cold.

Mine do the same thing it happens at .5 of a mile every time does not matter hot or cold most of the time after it sits for a couple of hours or so. I have put nitrogen in the tires to see if that would help and no change. Had the dealer put the latest tpms up date in and that did not help. I tried testing each one by letting 10 psi out and each one went instant red warning. It might be a sensor has somthing wrong with how it reads rotation I dont know still trying to figure it out. It has the dealer stumped too.
