Great weekend at Daytona Speedway!

The Audi club had a track event at Daytona Speedway that started Thursday and ended today (Sunday)
I went over with my friend Jack Thursday when he registered his 911 Porsch. There were all sorts of great cars being registered. Ford GT-40's, Corvettes, Mustang Cobras, Mustang Super Snakes, Audi R8's, Many different Porsche's, Every place you looked there was a great hi-performance sports car.
Well, I ended up joinining the Audi club. Attended all four days and took a lot of pictures.
A lot of people wanted me to register my 2009 JCW but with only 1,800 miles on it with the first dirty oil to be changed I didn't think it would have been a very good idea.
They run on the road course that they use for the Rolex 24 hour race. It is pretty neat to watch.
I went around with Randy Pobst first in Jacks 911, I went again in Randy's All Wheel Drive twin Turbo 911. All I can say is "WOW"
This was the second year they held the event at Daytona so there were no problems. Oh! one guy crashed the wall with his Cobra but was not injured. Car sure was though.
Speedway took a nice picture of My Mini and Audi club provided a nice frame.
This is probably the only time My Mini will see "VICTORY LANE"

You went for a ride with Randy Pobst! The Randy Pobst of SCCA WTC fame?!!

WOW! He is one of the coolest drivers ever!

I've watched him on the track and he is soooo good! I never miss his monthly column in Sportscar... He is a real hero of mine!

You should have let Randy Pobst take you around in your MINI!

You are one lucky guy... Hope he gave you some tips along the way!

It must have been an extraordinary weekend! Nice photo and nice MINI!

I'll tell you what, just the ride around the road course with Mr. Pobst would have nailed it down for me!

Thanks for sharing....

Motor On!

Yes, The same Randy.

He is a great driver and a very good person. My friend Jack and Randy are close friends. I got to hang out with Randy and Jack all four days and it was a blast. They did want me to tech in my JCW and Randy would have driven me around the track in it but like I said. Not enough miles on it and the oil has not been changed yet. Randy agreed, Of course Jack said if it destroys itself just get a new one. It was a great time and I can't wait until they do Daytona again. They may do Road Atlanta next year. I think I'll probably go.

Hope this works OK

Trying to use photobucket to have people look at pictures but I think i'm doing something wrong
If anybody can give me some tips on how to do it I sure would be grateful. Try this and let me know if it worked.

You will want to click on Audi at Daytona to see all of the 741 speedway pictures. If you want to see a bunch of pictures of my JCW go to ronnie948.
on upper right you should clic on to see slide show.

I will probably also put this on a better forum such as the 2007 coupe talk
