OMG, FT Drums a Tundra!!!

I have made it to Ft. Drum, it was -15 according to my thermometer Monday am. I am attaching a few photos I took of cold little Trixxie in Adams, NY. I am working on a snowman for blucooper still.

Only for a year, I am going to try to go drill, or just reenlist for a different duty station, nothing different, no reenlistment. But atleast I have the special weapons squad to lead. Dont think they have those at Jackson.

Don't worry spring will be here soon enough. You are surrounded by great motoring geography. Take route 3 out of Watertown in about 3 hours you will be in Lake Placid, If you want to go to the city head to Albany and take the train in, your only a few hours from Watkind Glen. Take a weekend head up into Canada for the long trip around the lake to Toronto and Niagra Falls. Then there is the drive along the St. Lawrence seaway.

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger, this is a pic of my poor car outside my office yesterday, we're a little warmer here - 15* instead of minus 15*

Welcome to Central New York. I hope you have snow tires! You're going to need them, but by now, you already are well aware of that!

In the summer months, there are lots of great driving roads to the east, in the Adirondacks. Also, to your southeast, just west of Lowville, is a ton of big windmills, which make a cool background to photograph your MINI against, (that's where I took the photo in my signature).

If you take rte 12 S from Fort Drum to Lowville... go down into town, past the hospital on your left... you will see a church.. take a right, then a right.. and follow that road back north.. you will see the windmills on the left..I graduated highschool in lowville .. oh yeah this is me cat again lol

Why would I need snow tires? So far I am getting around great on Fort Drum, home of "We don't like to plow our roads." Its like an ice rink. Trixxie missed being hit by about 20 feet this morning. Guy went straight through the T intersection and got hit by a guy leaving camp. I saw the guy coming and backed off. I did check out the Auto center today, Trixxie went up on the lift, raised the rear up and noticed both rear tophats need replacing (Dryrot). Well all have a great night.

I have great memories of Fort Drum, in all seasons. Summer there is pretty nice.

Take it easy.

I love pictures of our cars in harsh environs. Very cool (both literally and figuratively).

If only there was a way to easily retrofit some snowmobile tracks onto the MINI, like the Monster Garage version from many years ago:

Ya, I went up there for 7 straight summer camps with the Reserve way back when. Thank God it was in the summer.

Why mess up a mini converting it to a snowmobile when Traxxis (sp) makes custom stracks for vehicles, and they will generall do custom jobs for anything, now if some one wants to give me the $20,000 or so it would cost, I will show you a working MINI Cooper "Snow Cat".
