R56 Comparing the handling of a sunroof equipped car to one without.
Comparing the handling of a sunroof equipped car to one without.
Have you driven back to back R56 cars with and without a sunroof and could you detect a handling difference?
I drove two such cars over a 100 mile loop and I am almost certain that they have different springs. Both cars were sticks without the sport suspension.
The parts department should be able to answer the question of differing part numbers but you have to provide VINs and I didn't note the one of the sunroof car.

maybe it just feels different when U drive it because the moonroof represents a structural compromise in any monobody frame car. Also the center of gravity is higher because of the weight, and that throws things off.
I had an R53 (2005) w/SS and moonroof w/o a front strut brace I and swear I could feel the the monobody frame stress (for lack of a better word) any time I say took an empty roundabout pretty fast, or any tight cornering for that matter. Popped my dash once doing that (and spent 4 days in the shop getting the rattle fixed.) Lots of body-flex issues but no mr problems tho.
Now I have a non-sport suspension (with JCW rsb mod) moonroofed 2009 R56 w/a JCW front strut brace and doing the fast tight stuff everything seems soo much tighter, body-wise. Yet the weight of the mr in both cars is evident.
But it's a given that if one plans to track their car, to not get a mr, and consider a rear strut brace. But Syd's not a tracker, just a haulin-**** highway machine
