Stock 15" Rocket wheels (I painted the spokes satin black) from a Cooper with the Continental 175/65/15's. Once I wear them down enough, I'll switch to some dedicated snowtires.

w/studs on spare set of wheels

No more winter suv so had to make the S snow capable.
A word of caution - wow what a difference in handling with studs on dry pavement. seems to drift laterally at hway speeds, Makes me appreciate my Yokos.

It's snowing as I look out the window right now, but I'm probably not going to drive the mini tomorrow as I'm using the wife's car to drive down to NJ and pick up her parents for the annual holidays visit. But here's a pix I took the a week or so ago when I did the winter shoes switch. The BBS's and the Kuhmo's came off and the ASA's and Michelin Winter Primacy Alpin PA3's went on. Supposedly these tires use a blend of sunflower oil for better grip! Whatever. I'll let you know how it works out as I don't have a lot of faith in 17" winter setups on these cars (but this is how I bought it... both sets included).

Update - this set up is OUTstanding in the snow! wow talk about surpassing expectations. I live at the top of a 3/4 mile hill and my 200ft (unplowed) dway is even steeper, didnt even flinch. yes well worth the dry weather sacrifice

195/55/16 Blizzaks on 16" OEM steel wheels.
Handles great in the snow, I have been thinking I really need a skid plate though.

Decided to run some Blizzaks this season, they are on their way. I will post some pics when they arrive. Just a question too, is a front splitter too low to mount to a winter driven Mini in CO?

@Creeve, did you source those 16" wheels for your 07 MCS via the dealer?

Also, are you running a studd kit versus the standard MINI lugs for alloy wheels?

Thanks,
Don

Jeeze, all I did was take off the 17" pirellis and put on the 16" continentals my car came with
I've never driven a car with snow tires (the "Blue Wonder" pickup was a different scenario) in my life, so why start?

Running 16" black Konig Feathers with Federal WS2s (unstudded--studs are great when it's actually icy, but for the other 150 days of winter, they suck on dry pavement). Setup works amazingly well.

No, I am the third or fourth owner of these. They are somewhat difficult to find I believe, but give your dealer a try.

I switched to studs because lug bolts are a PITA.
