Goodbye to my MINI, Hello 135i Cabriolet

It's time for me to say goodbye to my lovely Mini... It's been alot of fun driving the Mini around... It's hard to say goodbye to my Mini.. from R53 to R56, and now.. looking forward to pick up my E88.. For sure I will miss the Mini, but if I don't take the offer for E88, I m pretty sure that I will feel regret afterward.

Personally, I enjoy driving the R53 more than the R56. Hope that I can get a R53, jet black, two tone interior, chrome interior and exterior in the future again~!!! I will come back and post my BMW here after I pick it up~! Bye everyone~!!

The 135 cabrio was my other choice, but I opted for a loaded MCS instead of a stripped 135. Drive it in good health!

Whew, quite a step up in the world in terms of window sticker! Enjoy that 1-er, they are nice indeed.

I like the 1-series more ever since MINI insists in increasing their prices and pricing themselves out of their market.

$30K+ for a new MINI? They are crazy!

The 1 series will soon offer the same exact turbo charged prince engine found in the R56 S. So if you fret at the price of jumping into a 6 cyl powered 128 or 135, BMW may soon decide to start offering lowered price 1 series (116 or 120) equipped with 4 cyl engines in the United States.

You can also do European delivery on a 1-series. No can do on a new MINI, at any price.

I agree. It doesn't have the "persona" of a MINI but it is still a superb automobile and it is emerging as a very solid value against the top tier Cooper S models, even loaded ones.

You wish!

Have you driven one? The Cabrio looks very attractive to these eyes in Crimson Red.

If anything, the E92 3-series resembles more the looks of a KIA.

The 135 is alot of car in terms of performance at that price point. The styling maynot give instant WOW but I like it.
Enjoy your new ride and hopefully will get back to R53.

I like the IDEA of the 135, but I don't like the character line on the side that makes the car look like it's smiling. Also the belt line seems too high, like a tub on wheels. To me, Mini has more personality, but to each his own! Enjoy your new ride.

I just went to the BMW site to get one(just a 128i coupe) with the stuff I want it's almost 40K vs 31K for the S MINI. I am a fan of stuff to play with and stick shifts so a loaded MINI seems like a great deal to me.

Great car to dive. Thought is was an good car before driving, and though it was a fantastic car after driving it.

I agree. Some Motortrend folks called it "frumpy" with "too many lines stamped into it's little body."

Although in the next sentence they state, "taken simply as a road eater, however, the 1 Series upholds BMW's reputation as a carmaker for the driver among us".

Base price is $30,025. Add just a few options, now your at $44,000 or better. The base 1 series has the 230 hp inline 6. The 135 I has the 3 litre twin turbo 300 hp and big bucks to go with it.

I personally can't get over the "frumpy body".

For some it's the right car. For now I'll take 2 MINI's. If I bought the Bimmer my wife would drive it all the time and I would be forced to keep my Mazda and drive it. She likes to drive fun cars too. This way were both happy.

To be honest, most BMWs seem very boring to me.

Me and the wife looked at a 135i cabrio and had major sticker shock $49k. Thats insane. Seems like a nice car and all, but also would not subject my kids to the rear seat She bought a 05 330ci cabrio instead, bright red I really wish Lexus would make a 4-5 seat/2 door cabrio .

Love the 1 Series Coupe (Cabriolets do absolutely nothing for me, sorry). Otherwise it's R56 for me, all the way. See ya!

Like the 1 series coupe, but I really wish the car we could get over here is the Audi A3 or S3 two door hatch (quattro of course), I would be all over that car.

Seems Audi doesn't think it could sell an expensive two door, turbocharged, allwheel drive car. I say they're wrong. Oh, and they also make an A3 cabrio that I think looks better than the BMW, but I am an Audi bigot.

The Mini and the 135 are two very different animals. They're not even in the same league.
