Rally lights questions

Ok, few questions for you experienced owners. I'm attempting to install quad driving lights for my 09 justacooper Clubman. Best ones I've found are either from outmotoring.com or VIP customs. The ones from outmotoring sits exactly where I want them to-in between the upper and lower grill, exactly on the bumper. However, they aren't rated to fit the Clubman non-S. The other option is VIP customs but they require a cut out on the grill. I have the stock chrome grill- can I use these and cut the slots myself? If not, I might be able to get JCW black grilles but once again they are uncut-how hard is it to cut the slots on them?(Frankly I prefer the look of the JCW black grills but might upgrade only later if possible).

Currently I'm sitting on the only obvious option- the whole kit from VIP customs with JCW pre cut grill for around $480. If any of the above options are possible though, I might be able to drop that price down by about $200~

You might want to investigate getting a light bar to mount the 4 lights. I had 2 lights mounted in middle of bottom grill of my JCW at a 4x4 accessories shop in my area; small town in mtns, more 4x4 shops than automotive. I think you will find 4x4 shops will have many light options and many mounting options.

VIP customs actually has a light bar for 4 lights but it states that even though there's no disassembly required, you'd still need to trim the grill-whatever that means. I'm just not sure if the stock chrome ones can be "trimmed" or cut for slots.

I noticed my chrome grille had the cut outs after i got the brackets and black grille from my dealer (they couldnt sell the brackets separate). take your chrome grille off(very easy and there are lots of posts here to tell you how) and if you have them they are on the lowest part of the grille on the outermost edges. after i saw them i figured it would make sense if the dealer was installing the lights why need a different chrome grille? they would have a lot of unused grilles sitting around.
