Ray cloth with black leather?

Hi everyone,

I'm new here and a soon-to-be MINI driver. I'm hoping to place an order in the next couple weeks and have been doing a ton of research here. Anyway, I saw someone post this picture with ray cloth/leather sport seats except the leather was black (rather than the red and blue on the configuration page). Is this option available in the US? I heard that the dealer's config sometimes allows for additional options.

Maybe it was an option in the 1st gen MINIs? Or possibly a European option?

I don't know, but I have to say that I've seen it in person on a Euro-spec model and it's really sharp looking. Something I would definately pursue if I ordered another MINI.

That is an R56 above so that particular picture is not from a 1st gen

Its been an option in Europe, we might have gone for it if it were available here.

It's worth asking the dealer if he'll try and order it for you.

It's not exactly a perfect analogy, but for our '09 MINI, we selected the Sport Package and the Bridgespoke wheels, but the configurator didn't give us the option for white bridgespokes unless we paid the normal $750 to upgrade from the standard 15's. So, we just asked the dealer, and he ordered them in white and it was included in the cost of the sport package.

Whether it works or not, it doesn't hurt to ask.
