R50/53 I've GOT the POWER!
HI!!! After 4 days of not having any power due to Hurricaine Isabel... at 1 am this morning, after having a hard time falling to sleep in the humid aftermath, our power kicked on!!
Thank god we've been lucky... at least 1 million others are still without power, and NC got smoked badly. Trust me folks, if you ever hear of a hurricaine even POSSIBLY coming your way, stock up on water, non perishable foods, board up the windows, and if it's anything over a Category 2.. BAIL OUTTA TOWN! Best of luck to all of you, and to returning members coming back online... best of luck rebuilding.

Great to have you. Tough time out there.
Sounds much much worse than our little hard drive crisis on 9/10.
Hope you are staying safe in the meantime.
Take care.

Glad to hear that you are OK. I lived for two years on the island of St. Martin. We were hit by two Cat. 4's and a Cat. 3. They are about the only weather that I truely fear. The best advice is get out of town as soon as possible to beat the rush or live in a concrete bunker with lots of supplies and a generator. The concrete bunker was what I did. We did not have water or electricity for a week or two sometimes. During Lenny I watched a large merchant vessel pushed by the wind so hard that it beached itself about 20 yards up onto rocks. In its journey it moved completely over the beach road. Once you go though something that traumatic it changes you.
Good Luck with the clean up it took over a year to get the island back to close its former charm.
