Status report on Motegi SP 10 wheels please.

Please report on your experiences with the Motegi SP 10 wheels in 7X17.

Fitment, tire sizes, offsets, clearances, TPMs are all of interest but more importantly how is the quality and are they surviving well? Never bought Chinese wheels and I am apprehensive.

The Konig Feathers (are those made in China as well?) are a close second on my list but I prefer the look of the Motegis in Hyper black.

brianbreeze has them on his ride in hyperblack, and they look great, especially with BRG. i'm considering them in flat black for my ds/b.

Thank you melvyn.

Maybe brianbreeze will see the post and let us know how he likes them after having driven them for sometime.

I agree with you, they do look nice and incidentally my 2009 is a BRG as well. My tire of choice will be the Goodyear F1 in 215/45X16.

Hello, just found your post.

When I was looking for wheels I did not consider the SP10 until I had seen them in person. Obviously I was compelled to buy them. They look fantastic.

Some quick observations:
The finish is quite nice and hides brake dust (to a point).
The wheels are painted inside (behind the spokes) a dark gray/black color which helps keep your eye from going through the wheel.
They are also slightly concave and have a reverse lip which is not attached to the spokes.
The finish is holding up after five months and I have no complaints.
The wheels will change tone depending on the available light. Bright sunlight will give you a shiny look and overcast a slightly darker appearance.

Tire size: 205/45/17
Wheel size 17x7
+40mm offset
Weight: 16.5lbs
No spacers required

I have a few pictures in my gallery that can be viewed here:
