Dings on the running boards

I must have run over something that bounced up and deeply scratched the black plastic running board under the driver's side door. I used my finger nail to take off some hanging pieces of plastic and then used Black WOW. It helped but obviously did not get rid of it.

Does anyone have further tricks to minimize the visual look of this type of damage?

The cost of painting all the black vinyl would be prohibitive for me. I guess masking it with WOW will have to do for now.

You could give this a try.

I'm thinking of trying it on my seat backs.

Buy and install a new one. Not expensive and an easy replacement.

I don't understand the question...it's just more black plastic underneath, right? Can you see it from more than a foot or two away?

but i suppose if you get in/out from the passenger side you wont
ever see it again...

Hm, my side skirts certainly have scratches from rocks, etc being kicked up...but I don't notice them unless I'm down there looking right at them...

All plastic trim on my car is trashed. Scared, scratched, dented, gouged and roughed from road grim, dirt, rocks, etc. Plus, it is all covered in cheap "Back to Black" residue (that stuff turns white after a few weeks).

I'm going to try my new bottle of "Black Wow" tomorrow.

The gouges are visible and are on the side and yes, it probably would not bother me as much if it was on the passenger side. The Black WOW does a good job of keeping it uniformly dark. I was just hoping there was something more.

I will learn to live with it I think. It is just that I've now learned to use my PC and the paint is looking so great' my eye is drawn there. Maybe if I just keep my head up and whistle a happy tune.....
