I recently installed a rear Ireland Engineering sway bar on my 2006 JCW with their drop links. Nice set-up! But after driving the car I noticed a rattle coming from what I suspect is the heim joint drop links. Has anyone else experienced this and is there a fix for this annoying rattle?

 

I think you'll just have to learn to live with it, those endlinks are pretty noisy and everything I tried with them had very little effect, I ended selling the bar and getting an Alta one. But hey, maybe someone else had better luck making them quieter.

 

First i added a nut to the rod end to make it sit farther away from the trailing arm. Then I fixed the rattle problem by using some fuel line, a short piece (3/8") cut lengthwise. I wrapped it around the lower rod end between where it goes into the trailing arm and the sway bar. Then I wrapped it with a tye-wrap. It takes up the back and forth rocking motion of the rod end. Mmh, I had tried something similar but it didn't work so well, reduced the noise but it was still there a bit...good job!
