looking for opinions/temp gauges

I am looking for a little feedback regarding temp gauges. I want to install a water temp gauge in my 06 mcs. I have read some posts regarding the analog types and the electronic type (ScanGauge). Other than the rather difficult install for the analog types and the aesthetic limitation of the ScanGauge, it was hard to gauge(haha) a preference.

Basically I just want to know if the car is running hot or cold, I hate not knowing.

Any feedback/preferences for either??

defi blackface gauges are what I use. You might look at them. They are not cheap, but work well and compliment the '06 gauges.

Thanks for your reply. I am leaning toward the analog OEM look gauges. I will probably have to find someone to do the install since I have two left thumbs...

For an analog gauge the "looks" OEM see the Autometer Ultralite Series. www.summitracing.com sells them as well as other places.
