Anthracite headliner spot removal/cleaning

What's the best way to remove or clean away a couple of spots on an anthracite headliner? I really don't know what the spots are, it's a fairly new MINI and the spots were there probably there from the beginning. I've sort of hesitated to touch the spots, since I'm not that familiar with anthracite as a material. Thanks for any tips!

Anthracite isn't the material, it's the color The headliner is just standard headliner material. I've used Griot's Interior Cleaner with excellent results on my regular silver headliner.

Thanks for the tip!! Do you think I should try the "tape" method just to see if anything comes off, before using the interior cleaner?

You could try it...just be sure it's a tape that's not going to leave tackiness behind, which will just attract more dirt to it...
