rear spoiler addition

I understand there may be a rubber strip which can be added to the rear spoiler.

Does anyone know about this?

Does it do anything, or does it just look nice?

Has anyone installed this part? If so, please post pix and links to suppliers.

Thanks!!

There was a post a while back about an add on piece for the spoiler. I placed my order and they had to take me off of the order, because they are reworking it for the R56. It is a piece that comes in black or white. I'm sure they will post when it's ready to go.

What was it going for, roughly?

What sold you on it (other than the fine look, of course)?

Do you have a link to that old post, or some other potential source of pix?

We are THE source for these on the R56! We coupled up with AutoX Cooper and negotiated a great deal for the NAM Community on the newest style of this type wing for the R56.

Alta stepped up to help us get the R56 Wing Tip in full production so they get to sell them (R56) Tips so the R56 owners that have tried to order them from AXC have been sent emails to order them from Alta.

You can order the R53/50 Wing Tips from Alta or www.MINIWingTip.com same part same price.

Thanks to Adam for taking notice of this great new part and making the deal happen to help us get the R56 Wing Tip out sooner then we could have. Once again Alta steps up, works with another vendor to serve MINI Owners.

WE are taking pre-orders right now for delivery in a few weeks on the R56. R53 versions are available now in flat black (by means of drop ship) and the painted versions will be arriving shortly as well.

You can place a pre-order through our website, or by PM'ing me your:

Full Name
DayTime Tel #
Shipping and Billing Address
Car model
Wing Color Desired.

Then as soon as yours is available, we will ring you directly for the CC information.

Hope that helps. We are ALL very excited to get things out to clients ASAP!

Hey Adam,

I went to the website, thanks for the link. I have 2 questions:

1. How much more to get it in body colour?
2. What, in broad strokes, does install involve? (Do we have to drill into the stock spoiler?, etc.)

Thanks!

2) No drilling!
1) Gloss White, Gloss Black and Gloss Silver no addl. charge (at this time according to Dustin but I am confirming it)

What color did you want it painted in and I can get a quote for you?

The supplier of the Wing Tip doesn't want to offer any other colors due to limited market and BMW Paint costs. Plus getting the perfect match on a color would be an issue. Your best bet is buy the flat black and take to a local shop to color match your color.

I guess I was a bit confused by the ALTA website, which reads:

Finally, ALTA offers BOTH the R53 and R56 versions in Gloss Silver, Gloss White, Gloss Black and Flat Black to suit nearly ANY MINI paint scheme. (Custom colors are available on request for a higher cost. PLEASE e-mail sales@altaminiperformance.com for more details on custom colors.

Anyway, that sounds like a good suggestion.

I am working with a local body shop on feasibility of doing alternative colors. But we are likely going to suggest the same as Dustin.

Hence the e-mail us for details. Sorry for any confusion.

Thank you in advance for your business!

I know this isn't a huge aero upgrade or anything like that, but, just out of curiosity, are there any proven advantages, or, just opinions as to what it does for the car? Anyone used it yet? Basically, is it just for looks?

Thanks for asking! The same part on the R53 not only looked good, but users reported less crud buildup on the rear glass, so it does help!

Please let us know how we can help in anyway further!
