2nd gen wheels???

Would you know if the 15" 2nd gen mini wheels/rims would fit on a 1st gen mini. Thanks
Shawn

Yes, they'll fit, as long as the 1st-gen car doesn't have the JCW brakes.

All of the OEM MINI wheels from the very beginning have the same bolt hole spacing and bolt hole diameter, along with the same hub diameter, so they're interchangeable.

The only problem you can run into is that the 2nd-generation R56/R55 'S' brakes are the same size as the 1st-gen JCW brakes, so none of the 15" OEM wheels and quite a few of the OEM 16" wheels won't fit over the new 'S' brakes (or the new JCW brakes, obviously).

I would do a double check on this because when I was ordering after market wheels I had to make sure when my car was made (it was a late 06 model so they were transitioning to the 07s) and apparently the lug sizes or something were larger so just do your homework on this..

After 7/06 the bolt diameter went from 12mm to 14mm. All the newer '07 up MINI's use the larger diameter.

Yes, that's a good thing to check before buying aftermarket wheels, but all OEM MINI wheels from the beginning have had ~16 mm bolt holes, so they'll work with either the older 12 mm bolts or the newer 14 mm bolts.

what about BBS R90 anthracite? did they make any changes to the lug bore size for the 1st and 2nd generation mini's?

and is BBS considered an aftermarket brand?

The R90 lug bore has remained unchanged, so it will also work with either 1st or 2nd gen cars.

And the R90 by BBS is still an OEM wheel. OEM just means "Original Equipment Manufacturer", and in the case of the R90 the OEM is BBS. I'm pretty sure *all* of the MINI wheels are made by someone else.
