Yes I did the search and found some pics, but I need to see more before I pull the trigger on this cool mod, so I'd appreciate some pics and besides, nothing wrong with whoring your MINI, right Yes I know I have an R56, but with more R53's around, I thought I'd get more pics, thanks again!

Thanks

I went to Home Depot picked up some aluminum, made some measurments, took outthe hack saw, used some screws I had had lying around, and re-enforced it with some JB weld. Was great until I realized the lights sat about 2" too low to the ground for me to pass inspection.

Here's more philosophical debate on the topic for you if you're interested in reading it.... https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=66311

Over a year now and they hold up just great following the waxing instructions to prevent fading.

Wow, very nice work on the brackets. And I have had those same Hella's before on my VW GTi - I love they way they look and want to get a set for my MINI.

Does that 2" rule only apply to aftermarket lights ? If not, I have seen some Italian sports cars with OEM fogs much ower than those wierd.

I'm tellin ya, that look is Hot!

Thanks, and yeah the Hella 500s pump out a TON of light

When I looked up the law it read 9" above the ground min for fog lights, I'm skeptical that the MINI OEM ones are high enough up by that standard. The MINI stands out and the yellow headlights draw a lot of attention (where I am they're legal this varies by state just FYI, but not everybody knows that; plus someone reports a car with yellow headlights and out of a thousand cars or more I can easily be the *only* one) so I thought it best to make sure, while I flirt with the limits of the law, I remain within the confines thereof, so sacrificing the look was a safe than sorry measure.

Ebay is hit or miss, they sell it in squares if you want yo cut to fit, but look at the kits they got for pretty cheap, I ordered just the headlights and got a full MINI setup (turn signal and factory fog covers included)

Here's a few more photos

I purchase straight from manufactuer. For the MINI, a small 4"x8" sheet is just enough to cut 4 circles out for fogs and directionals....make measurments carefully, edge to edge. You can just fit the 4 n the sheet they send... I used a table glass fo one size, and a cap for a can of spray paint for the other template,,,,,
