R50/53 Rocking front seat
Rocking front seat
The front driver's seat in our 2002 MCS has started to rock lately, and tonight on the way home both front legs of the seat came loose. I can't find anything in my Bentley manual about attaching the seat, but I'm assuming there is a bolt or torx at each corner. Can anyone tell me how to check the attachment points, or is there a known failure associated with the front seat attachments?
Thanks,
Ian

seat bolts
The problem is that the bolts that hold the seat to the slider have backed out. Each side has a foot that sits in the track of the slider, and each foot is held on by two pan-head torx bolts. That means I should have 4 bolts on the two front slider feet, I currently have none
. It looks like I'll have to remove the side panel of the seat bottom to be able to install the bolts, has anyone "dissected" a front seat? It looks like the seat rake adjuster has to come off, but other than that I'm in the dark.
