Poco's 100k+ detail
Poco's 100k+ detail
So a while back, Poco, my 03 Cooper rolled past 100,000 miles. Today I finished detailing him. Now he has always been taken cared of, never without some kind of wax protection, and kept clean, though he has been very dirty.
This MINI has seen some very harsh conditions, -45c, lots of gravel roads, blizzards, heavy rain storms. He also probably saved me from major injury, or death, by taking on a 15 foot deep ditch.
This is his first, total, all at once, all the same product brand, detail in over 2 years. He has been my test mule for all kinds of products, and detailing techniques lately. He has had to wait while I worked on other cars, we went motoring, or other life things that did not allow him attention. Now like I said, he has been washed, and has always had different products protecting him, just not one brand/system for a couple of years.
He is not perfect, a couple of very small dents, you can see some swirls in very harsh lighting conditions, and he has a stone chip here and there, but after I was done today, I must say the old fellow looks better than some brand new MINIs I see. His white wheels look like new, his paint is silky smooth, black trim has an even matte sheen.
Some pics from today;
