Removing front bumper cover

So I'm finally going to install the intercooler bezel. My instructions simply say "remove front bumper cover". There are 2 threads about this in the 1st gen forum, but none about the 2nd gen.

Based, on my expereince so far, there will be a bunch of little things I wouldn't expect, so I was wondering if anyone has done this yet and can post the process.

Thanks in advance for taking the time to do this!!

It's a bit involved but if you've got the time and the guts it's doable for a near novice like me. I ripped mine off to replace a busted intercooler. I used Alta's instructions. If I recall correctly, I think there are a couple parts that are unclear and there may be either one step missing or some incorrect counts but all in all it was a very helpful guide.

And if memory serves, you'll need a T25 torx, a phillips screwdriver, and a skinny flathead screw driver to help pop out the pop-its. There are a ton of the little pop-its and they come in 2 or 3 different sizes so make sure you pay attention to which ones came from where and keep them organized.

Good luck!

I've pulled it off a couple times, the first time going off Alta's instructions and it took a decent amount of time. There is a lot of little steps, a bunch of little plastic connector pieces to remove, and it may seem unclear the first time doing it. I'd start with the Alta instructions and just take your time. I can do it pretty quick now since I've done it a few times, but first time took much longer for me.

Thanks guys, and ALTA. Guess I'll save it for when I've got a bunch of time........ (all those little plastic bits!!)

While I've got it off, what else might I be able to access? May as well make it worthwhile!!

Easy access to intercooler, foglights, parking lights, ginormous washer fluid reservoir, black bumper grill (M7 replacement?), horn. That's all I can think of.

I haven't changed mine but I imagine taking off the bumper cover is required if you want to change out all your intercooler tubing.
