R56 Which DIY Clear Bra to buy?
Which DIY Clear Bra to buy?
What seems to be the only local shop (California Central coast) that was willing to install a clear bra on my '09 MCS closed just last week. If I can't find someone else in the San Luis Obispo area to do the work, I'm going to have to fumble through the install myself. There are several kit suppliers to choose from. Does anyone who has done an install feel that the kit that they used was particularly good? By that I mean quality material, good instructions, well fitted, etc.
Thanks for the input.

buy the ventureshield kit. ventureshield is now a 3m company but the film is better than 3m film according to my installer. 3m films tend to have the orange peel effect but not so with ventureshield.
i think you're looking at around $350-400 for the pre-cut material. or if you're brave enough you can buy bulk material on ebay and cut it yourself. there is a seller on ebay that sells 24" wide ventureshield film for $9/foot.
i was planning to buy some bulk film and cover the rest of the hood since i only had a partial hood installed. the exposed half is less than 24" at the widest parts and should be a piece of cake compared to the curved front end. my installer had to really work the front of the hood because of all the curves around the headlights.
The ebay seller also have 12" wide film for $5/foot. i plan to cover the bottom 12" of the sides of the car. that area is completely flat so should be easy.
