I'm sure I remember seeing on here a post about pointers/tips for starting a MINI owners club. I did a couple of searches and can't find anything. Can someone help me out here? Am I tripping? Did I see it on another site?
Anyway, if any of the various local club founders who are on here (I know there are several) have any hints, I'd appreciate hearing from you.

A good source of guidance and information will be Gabe Bridger, founder of the Chicago Motoring Club or Dave Bunting (aka The Scientist or Dave in Denver) founder of the 5280 Rocky Mountain MINI club.

Gabe's site is here:

http://www.bridger.us/mini

Good luck

Our Chicago Club is in it's third month of operations and has almost 60 members at this point. You can check out our website at Chicagominiclub.com

The first thing you'll want to do is find a core group that will be able to help you get the ball rolling. You then need to hash our the bylaws of the organization. Ask other MINI clubs for theirs and they will be invaluable when writing yours. We used the BMWCCA's for inspiration on many points. Then if you haven't given up yet you'll want to file all state and federal paperwork to become a real non-profit organization.

Then prepare to work yourself to death getting and keeping everything going

Thanks Dave. That was what I remembered seeing and couldn't find.
It'll take me a little while to digest, but I'm going to print it out and show it to the other "core group" members (both of them) when we meet again tonight.
